Pinewood Derby Rules
All cars must pass the following inspection to qualify for the race:

Width shall not exceed 2-3/4 inches.

Length shall not exceed 7 inches.

Weight shall not exceed 5 ounces.

Axles, wheels, and body shall be from the materials provided in the kit. Additional wheels can be purchased separately.

Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited.

No lubricating oil may be used. Axles may be lubricated with powdered graphite or silicone.

The car shall not ride on any kind of spring.

The car must be free-wheeling, with no starting devices. 9. No loose materials of any kind are allowed in the car.

Plan Your Dremel Pinewood Derby® Days Demo at Lowe’s
The 2017 Dremel Pinewood Derby® Days Program, brought to you through Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores, aims to provide you, the Pinewood Derby® enthusiast, with a source for all of the materials and know-how you need to create a winning Pinewood Derby® car you can be proud of – regardless of your skill level.
Starting in early-January and running through mid-February, your local Lowe’s store will be hosting Pinewood Derby® car clinics to share their tips and tricks for making the fastest cars on race day.
Everyone who attends an event will be given a:
• How-to demonstration
• Step-by-step instructions for building your car at home
• Pinewood Derby® Days patch
Please see the calendar for dates and times of the clinics & give your store a call prior to attending an event to verify one is taking place.
